Break On Through To The Other Side Of San Diego

Ted was supposed to join us at Petco Friday night but he didn’t post.  Mr. Yawkey and I wound up sitting by some guys from Revere who had flown in for the game.  They were trying to convince each other they knew what Dice was throwing but none of it sounded plausible. 

After the game we went back to Mr. Yawkey’s suite at the Del.  He groused about the greed of the resort’s owners for the rates they were charging and the time shares they had built by the tennis courts.  We sank into creaky wicker chairs on the balcony and stared into the salty darkness.

Viewing Party Set: Braves to be rendered timid

The next BLOHARDS' informal viewing party will be held at Professor Thom's (219 Second Avenue) on Monday, June 18th. The Red Sox will be playing the Atlanta Braves on the road that night. First pitch 7:00PM.

The Monday night slot allows the BLOHARDS team to defend its all-time record score in Quizmaster Quinn's Monday Night Trivia Contest. Chris from Prof. Thom's has also promised us a few innings of Play-By-Play Karaoke for would-be Orsillos and Remys (and Suzyn Waldmans). There will be a karaoke sign-up sheet available at the BLOHARDS table on the night of the event. You'd be crazy to miss it.

Rivalry Legends Gamble On Foxwoods

The greatest rivalry in sports took the field at Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mashantucket, CT last Friday, June 1st, as New York Yankee and Boston Red Sox legends hit the world's largest casino to officially open the new Stadium Sports Bar & Grill.

Rich "Goose" Gossage, Graig Nettles and Jim Leyritz joined Boston icons Jim Rice, Bill "Spaceman" Lee and Luis Tiant.
